AgeCare Walden Heights in Calgary, AB is seeking a Health Care Aide to join the care team under the supervision of a Licensed Practical Nurse. You will provide a range of safe, basic resident care and support daily living activities.

The role requires compassionate communication, English fluency, and a PCA/HCA certificate; prior experience preferred. The position is part-time, temporary, with competitive pay, benefits, and opportunities for training within AgeCare's welcoming, team-oriented

Qualifications

• One year of experience in continuing care or related environment is preferred.
• Post-secondary education an asset.
• Must be fluent in English, both orally and in writing.
• Completion of a recognized Personal Care Aide (PCA/HCA 2002 or greater) Certificate Course or Equivalent Education Certificate.
• Active registration with the College of Licensed Practical Nurses and Health Care Aides of Alberta (CLHA).

Responsibilities

• Bath, shower, and wash residents according to the NCP to promote resident personal comfort and well-being.
• Transfer/assist with resident transfers in and out of bed, to and from wheelchair, commode, or toilet.
• Feed/assist with feeding residents during meals and nourishment/snack times.
• Provide routine treatments and care procedures to residents under supervision of the Staff Nurse.
• Assist residents to travel about the facility and attend activities.
