Carewest is seeking a Health Care Aide (HCA) for a Temporary Part Time position in Calgary. The HCA will support clients to maintain quality of life, monitor health status, and work with a care team.

The role involves delivering prescribed medications and reporting changes to a Registered Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse. Qualifications include a High School Diploma and Alberta Health Care Aide program completion, English communication ability, and current CLHA registration.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent plus graduation from an Alberta Government recognized Health Care Aide program.
• Ability to read, write and communicate effectively in English.
• Must be physically capable of managing the frequent lifting, transferring and repositioning of clients.
• Active and current registration with CLHA is required.
• Related experience in a health care facility is an asset.
• Program-specific training/experience is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Provide ongoing client care as part of the interprofessional health care team.
• Observe, monitor and report on client status/condition to RN or LPN.
• Deliver prescribed medications accurately following policy and procedure.
