Job summary

SOURCES is a community-based non-profit organization providing support to families in the Lower Mainland. We are seeking a Family Support Worker to deliver contracted services for child & family programs, including outreach, life skills coaching, and support to reunify families with MCFD.

This role emphasizes trauma-informed practice, cultural sensitivity, and collaboration with social workers. The position is 35 hours per week, located at 882 Maple Street, White Rock, BC, with a 12-month mat

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in social sciences or related field.
• Trauma-Informed Practice training is an asset.
• Minimum 3 years’ experience with children and families under multiple stressors.
• Valid BC driver’s license with a clean driving record.
• Criminal record check required.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills.
• Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills.
• Availability to work evenings as needed.
• Cultural sensitivity.
• Strong understanding of child protection system and applicable acts.

Responsibilities

• Carry a caseload of 10-12 families.
• Provide supervised visitation and family development services.
• Outreach services in home/out-of-home settings; support reunification.
• Carry out service plan interventions such as life skills training and access to supports.
• Participate in Integrated Case Management and conferences.
