Job summary

Cogir Senior Living in Kingsville, ON seeks a friendly Server to join our dining services team in a bright, welcoming retirement residence. You will help with set-up, serving, tray delivery, and kitchen area cleanup, delivering meals with care and courtesy to residents and guests.

The role emphasizes excellent customer service, ability to lift and stand for long shifts, and flexibility to assist with catering and special events. A second language is a plus.

Qualifications

• Preference will be given to individuals with experience in food service and working with seniors.
• Demonstrates excellent customer service skills.
• Must be physically able to lift and transfer heavy items and stand/walk for most of the shift.
• Proficiency in a second language is considered an asset.
• Current VPS (Vulnerable Position/Sector Screening) within 6 months or willing to obtain.

Responsibilities

• To serve meals to residents and guests in a professional and courteous manner.
• To set and clear dining tables and deliver tray service as required.
• To assist with cleaning of dishware and kitchen items at the end of each service.
• To help maintain cleanliness of the kitchen and dining area.
• To assist with catering and participate in special occasions and events.
• To participate in orientation and training of new staff.
• To follow health and safety legislation and department procedures.
• To comply with regulations and uphold Resident Rights and responsibilities.
• To attend in-service training and staff meetings as required.
• To contribute to the Quality Improvement Program.
