Job summary

Cogir Senior Living is seeking a Server for our bright dining room in a Kingston retirement residence. You will help with set-up, dining service, tray delivery, and post-meal cleanup while contributing to a welcoming mealtime experience for residents and guests.

Preferred candidates have food service experience and excellent customer service skills, and must be able to lift heavy items and stand for long periods. A second language is a plus; VPS screening is expected or arranged after hire.

Qualifications

• Preference for previous experience in the food service industry and with seniors
• Excellent customer service skills
• Must be physically able to lift and transfer heavy, hot items and stand/walk for most of shift
• Second language is an asset
• VPS screening within 6 months or willing to obtain upon hire

Responsibilities

• Serve meals to residents and guests in a professional and courteous manner
• Set and clear dining tables; deliver tray service as required
• Assist with cleaning of dishware and kitchen/dining area
• Assist with catering and participate in special events and theme days
• Assist in orientation and training of new culinary staff
• Follow health and safety legislation and department procedures
• Respect resident rights and responsibilities and promote them
• Attend in-service training and staff meetings as required
• Participate in the Residence Quality Improvement Program
• Uphold the organization’s Code of Conduct and values
