Job summary

Cogir Senior Living is hiring a Server to work in our bright and welcoming dining room within a retirement residence. Join a team dedicated to creating memorable mealtimes where residents, families, and staff connect over good conversation.

You will set tables, serve meals, assist with tray service, help with kitchen cleanliness, and support catering and special events while upholding health and safety standards and resident rights.

Qualifications

• Experience in food service industry and working with seniors is preferred.
• Demonstrates excellent customer service skills.
• Must be physically able to lift and transfer heavy, hot items and stand/walk for the majority of shift.
• Proficiency in a second language is considered an asset.
• Current VPS or willingness to obtain one upon hire.

Responsibilities

• Serve meals to residents and guests in a professional and courteous manner.
• Set and clear dining tables and deliver tray service as required.
• Assist with cleaning of dishware and kitchen/dining area.
• Maintain cleanliness of kitchen and dining area.
• Assist with catering and participate in special events and theme nights.
• Assist in orientation and training of new staff.
• Follow health and safety legislation and departmental procedures.
• Comply with regulations and policies of the residence.
• Respect Resident Rights and Responsibilities.
• Attend in-service training and staff meetings as required.
• Participate in Quality Improvement programs.
