Job summary

The Salvation Army Meighen Health Centre is seeking a Dietary Aide to support the Food Service team in preparing and serving meals to residents and staff. You will follow HACCP procedures, monitor temperatures, and assist with kitchen operations in a compassionate, safety‑driven environment.

Responsibilities include assisting with meal service, maintaining cleanliness, and contributing to quality improvement initiatives while upholding organizational values and resident safety standards.

Qualifications

• Grade 12 or equivalent
• Completion of Food Service Worker and Food Handler programs
• Ability to read, write and understand English
• Ability to meet physical demands of the role
• Ability to interact with residents and staff
• Ability to operate kitchen equipment

Responsibilities

• Ensure proper food handling procedures and HACCP compliance
• Direct meal service and monitor temperatures for safety
• Report damaged equipment and maintain service readiness
• Prepare servery and dining areas for food service
• Deliver nourishment to assigned units and assist in catering as needed
• Uphold health, safety, and infection control policies
• Promote positive resident and family interactions
• Assist in quality improvement and risk management programs
