Job summary

Excel Society in Edmonton is seeking a Community Support Worker II for a temporary, on-site position. The role involves assisting clients in achieving their personal support plans, providing daily care, and maintaining a safe living environment within a community setting.

You will work with a team to administer medications, document care activities, and support guardians as directed. The position requires ASL proficiency, First Aid-CPR Level C, and a vulnerable sector police check.

Qualifications

• ASL proficiency is highly preferred.
• Valid First Aid- CPR Level C certificate is mandatory.

Responsibilities

• Daily supporting clients to work toward their Individual Support Plan and goals.
• Perform shift handovers with the previous shift.
• Administer medications using Catalyst system and verify arriving meds.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and comfortable environment for clients.
• Greet guardians and communicate with guardians as directed by site supervisor.
• Assist with care needs including hygiene, dressing, toileting, and meals.
• Monitor clients through the entire shift and document accordingly.
• Plan and document meals and snacks for clients.
• Complete weekly/admin tasks such as confirmations and occupancy reports.
• Perform household duties and maintain a safe environment for clients.

Hours of Work : Temp. 4 Rotational Shifts 7a-7p (84 hours biweekly) (CSWII- CR16) (Male Only)

The job responsibilities are as follows:

• Daily supporting clients to work towards their Individual Support Plan - client goals and identified measurable outcomes.
• Performing a thorough and complete shift exchange with previous shift.
• Using Catalyst system while administering medications to clients on time and checking/receiving medication that arrive while on shift.
• Maintaining a clean, safe, and comfortable environment for clients.
• Making Guardians feel welcome into the client’s residences and communicating/interacting with guardians of clients as directed by the site supervisor.
• Supporting client’s care needs such as: hygiene, dressing, making beds, toileting, etc.
• Assisting and monitoring clients through the entire shift.
• Completing, reading, and maintaining all required documentation.
• Planning for, preparing, and documenting meals and snacks for clients.
• Performing other administrative duties such as weekly confirmations, order money, end of the month client service updates, send in occupancy reports, and any other assigned tasks.
• Performing daily and weekly household duties such as: dusting, washing walls, vacuuming, cleaning, laundry, washing windows, shovelling snow, cleaning bathrooms, washing dishes, etc. ensuring a safe and comfortable environment for clients.
