About the Role

Our client is seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Community Sports Development Officer to foster sports participation and well-being within Kimberley and surrounding areas. This vital role focuses on designing and implementing programs that increase access to sports and recreational activities for all community members, especially underserved groups. You will work closely with local organizations, schools, and volunteers to build capacity and promote a healthy, active lifestyle through the power of sport within the Leisure & Sports sector. The ideal candidate is passionate about community engagement and possesses strong program management skills.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement community-based sports programs and initiatives to increase participation rates.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with community stakeholders, including schools, NGOs, and local government.
  • Organize and facilitate sports clinics, workshops, and events for various age groups and abilities.
  • Recruit, train, and support volunteers involved in community sports programs.
  • Monitor and evaluate the impact of sports development programs, providing regular reports.
  • Identify funding opportunities and assist in grant writing to support program sustainability.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Sports Management, Community Development, Education, or a related field.
