Community Programs Coordinator

Full-Time Support Staff (12-month Contract)

Reporting to the Supervisor, Conference & Events, the Community Programs Coordinator supports the planning, delivery and day-to-day operations of Nipissing University's youth and community programs, including summer camps, March Break programs, PD Day programming, and after-school programs. Working within Campus Sales & Services, the Coordinator supports program logistics, scheduling, communication, records, and participant services to help ensure programs are safe, organized, inclusive, and responsive to participant and family needs. The position works with camp leads, assistants, university departments, community organizations, families, and participants to support smooth program delivery from planning through implementation.

In addition to youth programming, the Coordinator supports student recruitment-related community outreach activities, including local school visits and engagement events that introduce prospective students to Nipissing University. In collaboration with the Recruitment Team, the role supports planning, communication, and on-site coordination to help ensure these experiences are organized, welcoming, and aligned with consistent recruitment messaging.

The Coordinator supports equity, diversity, inclusion, and accessibility (EDIA) across youth, community and outreach programming by helping identify and reduce barriers to participation. This includes supporting inclusive, culturally responsive, and accessible practices, resources, and processes so that children, youth, prospective students, and families can participate in a welcoming and respectful environment.

The successful candidate will hold a university degree. A Bachelor of Education degree or diploma in Early Childhood Education would be considered an asset. The candidate will also have a minimum of two (2) to three (3) years of experience supporting Community and Youth Based programs.

This position is classified as Wage Grade 60, with a wage range from $28.70 per hour (Step 1) to $36.34 per hour (Step 9). Placement within the salary range will be determined based on the candidate’s relevant experience, skills, and qualifications, as well as internal equity and market conditions.

Hiring is subject to final budgetary approval.
