Qualifications

  • Pharmacy degree from an accredited institution.
  • Active pharmacist license in Ontario.
  • Experience using Kroll Software.
  • Excellent communication with a focus on patient care and education.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
  • Commitment to continuous professional development and staying current with industry advancements.
  • Valid license to practice in Ontario.
  • Independent thinking and decision making.
  • Plan, coordinate and delegate assignments and provide coaching to Pharmacy colleagues.
  • Prioritize activities quickly in response to changing initiatives.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Commitment to providing exceptional customer service.
  • Superior customer relations and professionalism.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to execute action plans.
  • Strong computing skills; knowledge of Pharmacy systems is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Practice within federal/provincial regulatory requirements and uphold professional standards.
  • Ensure privacy requirements and confidentiality.
  • Counsel on prescriptions, OTC products, and health issues with guidance on interactions and dosages.
  • Work to full extent of expanded scope with Professional Services.
  • Ensure accuracy of all prescriptions dispensed.
  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals for optimal patient care.
  • Maintain records per legislation and policy, including controlled substances.
  • Promote health, educate customers, and engage with the community.
  • Resolve customer needs promptly with healthcare providers.
  • Control access to the dispensary and manage inventory confidentiality.
  • Manage daily Workflow Queues and stock expiry reviews.
  • Document and report controlled substances as required.
  • Prepare, package, store, and handle vaccines and other drugs as needed.
  • Place inventory in appropriate locations.
  • Communicate issues at shift change to the team.
  • File incident reports for medication or privacy incidents.
