Job summary

Siloam Mission in Winnipeg is seeking a dedicated kitchen lead to supervise volunteers and staff in meal planning, preparation, service, and cleanup. You will ensure nutrition and safety while supporting clients’ health and progress.

The role requires a Safe Food Handling Certificate, 1 year in a commercial kitchen, and experience with volunteer management; strong communication and organizational skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Safe Food Handling certificate is required.
• At least 1 year of experience in a commercial kitchen.
• Volunteer management experience is highly suggested.

Responsibilities

• Prioritize, organize, and delegate tasks to volunteers.
• Plan, prepare, and serve meals in a timely manner.
• Ensure sanitation, safety, and food regulations are followed.
• Maintain kitchen cleanliness and order.
• Receive and manage donated food items.
• Minimize waste and maximize use of donations.
• Adhere to City of Winnipeg health standards for meal prep and safety.
• Model Siloam Mission core values daily.
