Job summary

RainCity Housing in Vancouver seeks a casual Cook to prepare and serve meals, following menus and recipes, and to assist with inventory and storage. You will clean kitchen areas and equipment, and guide food service workers, clients, and volunteers as needed.

The role requires physical stamina, good communication, and the ability to manage multiple tasks in a busy community setting. Vulnerable sector clearance is required.

Qualifications

• Grade 12 is required.
• Professional Cook Training Certificate is required.
• Certificates in First Aid and Food Safe are required.
• Recent related experience of six months or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and serve meals and snacks following established menus and recipes.
• Receive supplies, perform inventory control, store goods, and update records.
• Maintain cleanliness of food preparation equipment, kitchen, and storage areas.
• Provide directions to food service workers, clients, and volunteers as needed.
