Job summary

Prairie Mountain Health in Manitoba seeks a Dietary Aide to support nutrition services. You will assist in assembling, producing, and serving meals, ensure adherence to therapeutic diets, and maintain sanitary preparation and dining areas.

You’ll handle cash procedures, monitor temperatures, and support inventory and training as needed. The role requires a Grade 10 education, a Food Handler Training Certificate Level 1 (or willingness to obtain), and proficiency with Microsoft Office tools.

Qualifications

  • Grade 10 required with Manitoba Standards.
  • Food Handler Training Certificate Level 1 or willingness to obtain within six months.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft programs and general IT/computer use.
  • Ability to work efficiently with dexterity and speed.
  • Ability to follow policies, maintain confidentiality, and work independently.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in all aspects of food service assembly, production and distribution.
  • Ensure food preparation adheres to menu and therapeutic specifications.
  • Maintain clean and sanitary preparation, storage and dining areas.
  • Monitor food temperatures and reuse leftovers per guidelines.
  • Operate cash register and complete related cash procedures.
  • Assist with training Nutrition Services staff and students.
  • Assist with inventory, labeling and storing leftovers, and sanitation procedures.
  • Deliver food to clients and service areas and ensure portion standards.
