Northern Health is seeking an experienced Adult Day Program Aide to join our team in British Columbia. The role supports the LPN Supervisor by delivering a balanced program of activities and daily living assistance tailored to each client’s activation, life skills, recreation, and social needs.

The position runs Mon, Wed and Fri from 08:30 to 15:00, offering engagement with seniors in a supportive healthcare environment and opportunities for professional growth within Northern Health's

Qualifications

  • Long Term Care Aide certificate or equivalent combination of training and experience.
  • One year experience in a health care facility/agency related to care for the elderly.
  • Valid BC Class 4 Driver’s License.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with activities and daily living as directed, under supervision.
  • Support activation, life skills, recreational and social needs of clients.
  • Work with the LPN Supervisor to provide a balanced program of services.

Position Summary

Northern Health is looking for an experienced, highly efficient, and self-directed Adult Day Program Aide to join Northern Health. In accordance with the established mission, vision, values, and strategic priorities of Northern Health, and under the general supervision of Manager or designate, this position assists the LPN Supervisor in providing a balanced program of purposeful services and activities to meet client’s activation, life skills, recreational and social needs and to assist with activities of daily living as required.

Shift Rotation/Hours of work

Mon/Wed/Fri, Days - 08:30 to 15:00

Qualfications
  • Long Term Care Aide certificate or a combination of training and experience augmented by sound knowledge of the problems faced with dealing with the elderly and people who periodically suffer physical problems, and psychological or emotional disturbances, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
  • One year experience in a health care facility/agency related to care for the elderly.
  • Valid BC Class 4 Driver’s License.
Skills and Abilities
  • Ability to assist with planned activities in a professional manner.
  • Ability to work and interact with clients.
  • Possesses tact in dealing with clients.
  • Able to follow instructions and work effectively within an environment consisting of a variety of professional disciplines.
  • Ability to work independently as well as under supervision.
