ParaMed is seeking a Clinical Supervisor to lead community care teams in Bedford, NS. You will oversee CCAs and CAITs, ensure safe and ethical home health interventions, and partner with nursing colleagues to support documentation and funder reporting.

The role emphasizes coaching, clinical leadership, and ongoing staff development within a comprehensive home health program offering training, benefits, and career growth opportunities.

Qualifications

  • Registered as a Licensed Practical Nurse in good standing.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years’ experience as a practicing nurse.
  • Strong patient health assessment skills.
  • Understanding of community nursing principles.
  • Proven leadership and management experience.
  • Knowledge of clinical documentation standards and guidelines.
  • Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and teaching skills.
  • Valid driver’s license and access to reliable transportation.
  • Ability to obtain a current Vulnerable Sector Screening (VSS).

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and support CCA’s and CAIT’s to ensure practices comply with standards.
  • Respond to and resolve concerns from staff, patients, families, and other team members.
  • Provide ongoing leadership through huddles, face to face meetings and one-on-ones.
  • Initiate patient safety incident investigations and documents to ensure timelines and action plans are met.
  • Collaborate with nursing to support clinical documentation and funder reporting.
  • Engage patients in problem solving with health teaching and relationship building.
  • Engage staff in problem solving, offering education and mentoring.
  • Maintain knowledge to provide safe, efficient service in home health care.

Job DescriptionIn this valuable role, the Clinical Supervisor is accountable for the supervision of community care assistants (CCA) and community care assistants in training (CCAIT) who are caring and making a difference for clients within the community.
