We are currently seeking a talented and enthusiastic individual to join our culinary team as a full-time Commis Chef. In this entry-level role, you will have the opportunity to learn and grow under the guidance of experienced chefs while contributing to the preparation and presentation of a variety of dishes. If you are passionate about fine dining, eager to develop your culinary skills, and committed to excellence in every dish you prepare, we invite you to join us at Nobu.

Responsibilities:

  • Assisting in the preparation and cooking of various dishes according to established recipes and standards.
  • Maintaining high standards of food quality, freshness, and presentation.
  • Ensuring that all kitchen areas and equipment are clean, sanitized, and organized.
  • Assisting with inventory management and stock control.
  • Following proper food safety and hygiene practices at all times.
  • Collaborating with other kitchen colleagues to streamline workflow and maximize efficiency.
  • Taking direction from senior kitchen colleagues and executing tasks promptly and efficiently.
  • Adhering to all company policies, procedures, and guidelines.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience working in a professional kitchen environment.
  • Culinary school diploma or relevant certification preferred.
  • Strong passion for food and cooking.
  • Ability to work well under pressure in a high-volume fine dining kitchen environment.
  • Excellent teamwork and communication skills.
  • Food Handler certification.
  • Ability to work flexible shifts including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
  • Basic knowledge of kitchen equipment and utensils.
  • Attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness and hygiene.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and lift heavy objects.
