Job summary

ASSA ABLOY Group is seeking a Commercial Service Technician Lead in Port Coquitlam, BC. This role focuses on service of commercial and industrial doors, working with a variety of equipment and maintaining strong customer relations.

The position offers ongoing training, a company truck and fuel card, and growth opportunities within a stable, expanding organization. You will travel as needed and participate in after-hours support as required.

Qualifications

• Minimum 10 years of commercial overhead door/gate installation or service experience.
• Welding and/or electrical experience is a plus.
• Travel required.
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
• Demonstrated mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to handle a physical workload.
• After hours rotation.
• Proficient with power tools.
• Independent work capability.
• Service-oriented with written/verbal communication skills.
• Comfortable working at heights.
• Adaptability to a changing work environment.
• Effective interpersonal skills.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Must pass background check.
• Basic math skills.

Responsibilities

• Service a variety of products including sectional/rolling doors and loading dock equipment.
• Repair and troubleshoot defective equipment.
• Maintain proper truck stock, inventory, and company vehicle.
• Accurately track timekeeping, travel time, and job details.
• Interact with customers, end-users, and general contractors professionally.
• Apply problem-solving to address site requirements.
• Perform routine preventative maintenance.
• Participate in training and team activities for continuous improvement.

Job Title: Commercial Service Technician Lead
Location: Port Coquitlam, BC

This position will be in Port Coquitlam, British Columbia. We are innovative, customer-centric, and professional, with a commitment to providing exceptional service to our customers. This role is pivotal as the primary support for commercial and industrial customers, responsible for the service of Doors in today’s ever-changing market. We have a solid backlog of work and are looking for the right team members to join our crew! Our business is growing and opportunities to Service many different types and makes of equipment are plentiful.

Responsibilities:

• Service a various products, including sectional doors, rolling doors, drop testing fire doors, vehicle restraints, impact doors, and loading dock equipment.
• Repair and troubleshoot defective equipment.
• Maintaining proper truck stock, inventory, and company vehicle.
• Responible for accurate timekeeping; detailing job numbers, travel time, labeling equipment, and completing job assignments timely.
• Interact with customers, end-users, and general contractors courteously and professionally.
• Apply critical thinking and problem-solving skills to address diverse door and site requirements.
• Performing routine preventative maintenance.
• Adhere to all safety policies and procedures.
• Promote the company’s operational visions, values, and goals.
• Participate in training or other team activities to support ongoing continuous improvement.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Manager or his/her designate.
