Job summary

Traka (Assa Abloy) in Port Coquitlam, BC is seeking a Commercial Service Technician Lead to oversee service and maintenance of commercial/industrial doors across our customers. You will troubleshoot, repair, and maintain a variety of door systems while managing timekeeping, stock, and safety compliance.

The ideal candidate offers 10+ years in overhead door installation/service, strong mechanical and problem-solving skills, and the ability to work independently and travel as needed.

Qualifications

• Minimum 10 years of overhead door/ gate installation or service experience.
• Welding and/or electrical experience is a plus.
• Travel required.
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
• Demonstrated mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to handle a physical workload.
• After hours rotation.
• Proficient with power tools.
• Independent work capability.
• Service-oriented with strong written/verbal communication.
• Comfortable working at heights.
• Adaptability to changing environments.
• Effective interpersonal skills.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Must pass background check.
• Basic math skills.

Responsibilities

• Service a variety of products including sectional doors, rolling doors, fire doors, vehicle restraints, and loading dock equipment.
• Repair and troubleshoot defective equipment.
• Maintain proper truck stock, inventory, and company vehicle.
• Accurate timekeeping; detail job numbers, travel time, labeling equipment, and timely assignments.
• Interact with customers, end-users, and general contractors professionally.
• Apply critical thinking to address diverse door/site requirements.
• Perform routine preventive maintenance.
• Adhere to all safety policies and procedures.
• Promote the company’s visions and goals.
• Participate in training and continuous improvement activities.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Manager or designate.

Job Title: Commercial Service Technician Lead

Location: Port Coquitlam, BC

This position will be in Port Coquitlam, British Columbia. We are innovative, customer-centric, and professional, with a commitment to providing exceptional service to our customers. This role is pivotal as the primary support for commercial and industrial customers, responsible for the service of Doors in today’s ever-changing market. We have a solid backlog of work and are looking for the right team members to join our crew! Our business is growing and opportunities to Service many different types and makes of equipment are plentiful.

Responsibilities:

• Service a various products, including sectional doors, rolling doors, drop testing fire doors, vehicle restraints, impact doors, and loading dock equipment.
• Repair and troubleshoot defective equipment.
• Maintaining proper truck stock, inventory, and company vehicle.
• Responible for accurate timekeeping; detailing job numbers, travel time, labeling equipment, and completing job assignments timely.
• Interact with customers, end-users, and general contractors courteously and professionally.
• Apply critical thinking and problem-solving skills to address diverse door and site requirements.
• Performing routine preventative maintenance.
• Adhere to all safety policies and procedures.
• Promote the company’s operational visions, values, and goals.
• Participate in training or other team activities to support ongoing continuous improvement.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Manager or his/her designate.
