ASSA ABLOY Entrance Systems in Mississauga, Canada is looking for a Service Technician to diagnose, repair, and upgrade automated pedestrian doors at customer sites. You will handle sliding, swinging, and rotating doors, perform planned maintenance, and respond to break-fix issues with a focus on safety and customer satisfaction.

This role requires mechanical aptitude, basic electrical knowledge and a valid driver's license.

Qualifications

• Must have mechanical aptitude and repair electro-mechanical devices.
• Basic knowledge of electrical circuits and 120V low-voltage wiring.
• Experience with glazing, storefronts, aluminum frames and hardware preferred.
• Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
• Commitment to safety and customer satisfaction.
• Ability to lift and use power tools.

Responsibilities

The Role

As a Service Technician, you’ll play a critical role in delivering exceptional service and reliable door solutions to our customers. You will diagnose, troubleshoot, repair, and upgrade a variety of sliding, swinging, and rotating doors while ensuring excellent customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform planned maintenance, break-fix repair, and upgrades of automated pedestrian doors at customer locations.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot issues involving electro-mechanical devices, electrical circuits, and relay logic.
• Work with aluminum frames, glazing materials, hardware, and low-voltage wiring.
• Maintain professional communication with customers, end-users, and contractors, providing exceptional service at every interaction.
• Participate in training programs and maintain AAADM certification.
• Participate in on-call rotations after certification and training.

Safety

• Perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting, positioning, and installing door components weighing up to 110 pounds (with lifting aids) on an occasional basis, with or without reasonable accommodation; climbing ladders, kneeling, driving and working in various positions as required.

What You Will Need

• Mechanical aptitude with experience in repairing electro-mechanical devices.
• Knowledge of basic electrical circuits and low-voltage (120v) wiring (access control systems a plus).
• Experience in glazing, storefronts, aluminum frames, and hardware (preferred).
• Valid driver’s license and a good driving record.
• High commitment to safety, customer satisfaction, and teamwork.
• Ability to lift, bend, and use power tools effectively.

What We Offer

Hourly Rate/Salary range

• $23-39 per hour; The final pay rate offered to the successful candidate will depend on education, experience, skill level and other qualifications for the role.
