Job summary

ASSA ABLOY Group in Port Coquitlam, BC is seeking a Commercial Service Technician Lead to oversee service of commercial doors and related equipment. You will troubleshoot, repair, and maintain a range of door systems while managing truck stock and coordinating with customers and contractors.

The role demands 10 years of experience, a valid driver's license, and readiness to travel. A strong mechanical mindset and safety focus are essential for this hands-on leadership position.

Qualifications

• Minimum 10 years of commercial overhead door / gate installation or service experience.
• Welding and/or electrical experience is a plus.
• Travel required; valid driver’s license with a clean record.
• Demonstrated mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.

Responsibilities

• Service a variety of products including sectional and rolling doors, fire doors, restraints, and loading dock equipment.
• Repair and troubleshoot defective equipment.
• Maintain truck stock, inventory, and company vehicle.
• Accurate timekeeping: report travel time, job numbers, labeling equipment, and timely completion.
• Interact with customers, end-users, and general contractors professionally.
• Apply critical thinking to address site requirements and perform preventative maintenance.
• Follow safety policies and participate in training and continuous improvement.
• Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Job Title: Commercial Service Technician Lead

Location: Port Coquitlam, BC

This position will be in Port Coquitlam, British Columbia. We are innovative, customer-centric, and professional, with a commitment to providing exceptional service to our customers. This role is pivotal as the primary support for commercial and industrial customers, responsible for the service of Doors in today’s ever-changing market. We have a solid backlog of work and are looking for the right team members to join our crew! Our business is growing and opportunities to Service many different types and makes of equipment are plentiful.

Responsibilities:

• Service a various products, including sectional doors, rolling doors, drop testing fire doors, vehicle restraints, impact doors, and loading dock equipment.
• Repair and troubleshoot defective equipment.
• Maintaining proper truck stock, inventory, and company vehicle.
• Responible for accurate timekeeping; detailing job numbers, travel time, labeling equipment, and completing job assignments timely.
• Interact with customers, end-users, and general contractors courteously and professionally.
• Apply critical thinking and problem-solving skills to address diverse door and site requirements.
• Performing routine preventative maintenance.
• Adhere to all safety policies and procedures.
• Promote the company’s operational visions, values, and goals.
• Participate in training or other team activities to support ongoing continuous improvement.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Manager or his/her designate.

Qualifications:

• We seeking applicants with a minimum 10 full year of commercial overhead door / gate installation/service experience at this time.
• Welding and/or electrical experience is a plus.
• Travel required
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
• Demonstrated mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to handle a physical workload
• After hours rotation
• Proficient with power tools.
