Job summary

ASSA ABLOY Entrance Systems in Mississauga, Canada, seeks a Service Technician to diagnose, repair, and upgrade automated pedestrian doors at customer sites, including sliding, swinging, and rotating models.

You will work with electrical circuits, aluminum frames, glazing, and hardware, maintain safety, and communicate professionally with clients. AAADM certification and on-call rotations follow training; hourly pay is competitive with benefits under the bargaining agreement.

Qualifications

  • Mechanical aptitude with experience in repairing electro-mechanical devices.
  • Knowledge of basic electrical circuits and low-voltage wiring (120V).
  • Experience in glazing, storefronts, aluminum frames and hardware preferred.
  • Valid driver’s license with a good driving record.

Responsibilities

  • Perform planned maintenance, break-fix repair, and upgrades of automated pedestrian doors at customer locations.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot issues involving electro-mechanical devices and relay logic.
  • Work with aluminum frames, glazing materials, hardware, and low-voltage wiring.
  • Maintain professional communication with customers and contractors and participate in training and AAADM certification.

The Role:

As a Service Technician, you’ll play a critical role in delivering exceptional service and reliable door solutions to our customers. You will diagnose, troubleshoot, repair, and upgrade a variety of sliding, swinging, and rotating doors while ensuring excellent customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform planned maintenance, break-fix repair, and upgrades of automated pedestrian doors at customer locations.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot issues involving electro-mechanical devices, electrical circuits, and relay logic.
  • Work with aluminum frames, glazing materials, hardware, and low-voltage wiring.
  • Maintain professional communication with customers, end-users, and contractors, providing exceptional service at every interaction.
  • Participate in training programs and maintain AAADM certification.
  • Participate in on-call rotations after certification and training.
Safety
  • Perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting, positioning, and installing door components weighing up to 110pounds(with lifting aids)on an occasional basis, with or without reasonable accommodation; climbing ladders, kneeling, driving and working in various positions as required.
What You Will Need:
  • Mechanical aptitude with experience in repairing electro-mechanical devices.
  • Knowledge of basic electrical circuits and low-voltage (120v) wiring (access control systems a plus).
  • Experience in glazing, storefronts, aluminum frames, and hardware (preferred).
  • Valid driver’s license and a good driving record.
  • High commitment to safety, customer satisfaction, and teamwork.
  • Ability to lift, bend, and use power tools effectively.
What We Offer:
Hourly Rate/Salary range
  • $23-39 per hour; The final pay rate offered to the successful candidate will depend on education, experience, skill level and other qualifications for the role.
