Job summary

ASSA ABLOY Group in Port Coquitlam, BC is seeking a Commercial Service Technician Lead to oversee service for commercial and industrial doors, including sectional and rolling doors, and to lead a field service team delivering repairs and preventative maintenance.

You will travel to customer sites, troubleshoot complex equipment, maintain truck stock, adhere to safety policies, and partner with customers and contractors to ensure high service standards.

Qualifications

• Minimum 10 full years of commercial overhead door / gate installation/service experience.
• Welding and/or electrical experience is a plus.
• Travel required
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
• Demonstrated mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to handle a physical workload
• After hours rotation
• Proficient with power tools.
• Independent work capability.
• Service-oriented individual with effective written/verbal communication skills.
• Comfortable working at heights.
• Adaptability to a changing work environment.
• Effective interpersonal skills.
• Must pass background check
• Basic math skills.

Responsibilities

• Service a variety of products, including sectional and rolling doors and loading dock equipment.
• Repair and troubleshoot defective equipment.
• Maintain truck stock, inventory, and company vehicle.
• Accurate timekeeping and detailed job numbers, travel time, and labeling equipment.
• Interact with customers, end-users, and contractors professionally.
• Apply problem-solving to address site requirements.
• Perform routine preventative maintenance.
• Follow safety policies and procedures.
• Promote company values and goals.
• Participate in training and continuous improvement.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Manager.

Job Title: Commercial Service Technician Lead

Location: Port Coquitlam, BC

This position will be in Port Coquitlam, British Columbia. We are innovative, customer-centric, and professional, with a commitment to providing exceptional service to our customers. This role is pivotal as the primary support for commercial and industrial customers, responsible for the service of Doors in today’s ever-changing market. We have a solid backlog of work and are looking for the right team members to join our crew! Our business is growing and opportunities to Service many different types and makes of equipment are plentiful.

Responsibilities:

• Service a various products, including sectional doors, rolling doors, drop testing fire doors, vehicle restraints, impact doors, and loading dock equipment.
• Repair and troubleshoot defective equipment.
• Maintaining proper truck stock, inventory, and company vehicle.
• Responible for accurate timekeeping; detailing job numbers, travel time, labeling equipment, and completing job assignments timely.
• Interact with customers, end-users, and general contractors courteously and professionally.
• Apply critical thinking and problem-solving skills to address diverse door and site requirements.
• Performing routine preventative maintenance.
• Adhere to all safety policies and procedures.
• Promote the company’s operational visions, values, and goals.
• Participate in training or other team activities to support ongoing continuous improvement.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Manager or his/her designate.
