Job description

Agilus is recruiting for a Commercial Manager in the Construction Industry in Mississauga, Ontario.

Reporting to the Operations Director, the Senior Commercial Manager will be responsible for the successful administration of contracts with clients, consultants, subcontractors, and suppliers. This position is GTA-based but will require travel to client sites.

Responsibilities:

1. Perform forensic reviews of baseline and progress construction schedules and provide input to the project team.
2. Develop risk registers and identify key contractual obligations from contract reviews. Review the Prime Contract to determine obligations, liabilities, and highlight risks.
3. Manage contract administration processes and results.
4. Develop contract management activities to ensure compliance with the Prime Contract. Manage contract reporting activities and track deliverables.
5. Develop and implement Change Management procedures and track contract and subcontract changes/modifications.
6. Analyze bids from subcontractors and suppliers; negotiate subcontracts and purchase orders.
7. Manage subcontracts and purchase orders, including resolving contractual issues, administration, reviewing change entitlements, and other duties supporting successful subcontract administration.
8. Develop and implement district and company-wide best practices, processes, and policies.

Successful candidates will have:

1. Post-secondary education, such as a degree or diploma in a related field, and/or relevant experience with 10+ years of leadership experience in the construction industry.
2. A strong background in contract management.
3. Excellent financial and numeracy management skills.
4. The ability to work within tight deadlines and prioritize tasks effectively.
5. Strong project management, organizational, and investigative skills.
