Job summary

Cenovus Energy is seeking a Commercial & Development Analyst to turn complex data into clear insights. You will develop dashboards and executive-ready reporting, build economic models, and automate data workflows using Excel, Power BI, and Python.

This role supports senior management with timely, accurate insights to guide commercial decisions. The ideal candidate brings a strong analytics foundation, up to 3 years of relevant experience, and a willingess to work across data platforms in a

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in engineering, data analytics, commerce, economics, or related field.
Up to 3 years of relevant experience in commercial analysis, business development, finance, data analytics, or market analysis.
Advanced knowledge of Excel (Power Query, pivots, lookups, data validation), PowerPoint, and Power BI.

Responsibilities

Develop management reports, dashboards, and visual summaries using Excel, Power BI, and other platforms.
Automate analytical tools, data workflows, and quality checks using Python, Power Query, or similar tools.
Analyze the competitive landscape, including customer netbacks, transportation options, and market fundamentals.
Prepare financial, economic, and analytical reports that translate data into insights and recommendations.
Build economic models, sensitivity tools, and scenario analyses to support decisions.
Draft and distribute contractual notices to customers as required.
Support long-range planning through assumptions, analysis, and planning inputs.
