Job description

Overview

Job Purpose

The Commercial Business Analyst will support projects that drive revenue and sales, focusing on the prospect to cash workflow. This role involves working with a team of analysts to develop strong data and business analysis skills, contributing to revenue growth. The position reports to a Manager, Commercial Analysts within ICE's Commercial and Business Operations organization.

Responsibilities

The main focus is to collaborate with the Sales and Relationship Management team to support their existing client portfolio through the prospect to cash process. This includes conducting internal reviews of client accounts to ensure billing, contracts, and delivery configurations comply with commercial policies. The analyst will perform detailed forensic account analyses, resolve identified issues, and coordinate with internal stakeholders to advance deals through the sales pipeline. Additionally, the analyst will provide data-driven recommendations to support strategic decision-making, requiring strong problem-solving, financial acumen, and revenue data analysis skills. Supporting opportunity creation and deal progression to facilitate timely closures and revenue growth is also key.

Other responsibilities include:

  • Manipulating large datasets using business intelligence tools, Excel, and other technologies for forensic review and analysis.
  • Collaborating with Sales, Finance, Legal, Pre-Sales, Delivery, and Commercial Management & Operations on deal structuring and closure recommendations.
  • Analyzing revenue, pricing, utilization, and inventory to identify risks and opportunities, supporting commercial processes and projects.
  • Guiding Sales and Relationship Management on elements of a 'good deal' using market insights and historical fee data.
  • Enhancing existing processes for greater efficiency and accuracy.
  • Providing data-driven insights and analysis to support the commercial team.
  • Preparing and presenting insights to management to inform strategic decisions.
  • Becoming a Salesforce Lightning expert to assist Sales & Relationship Management throughout the opportunity lifecycle and ensure quality data entry.
Knowledge and Experience
  • 5+ years of relevant experience in business or commercial analysis.
  • Experience in the financial services industry is a plus.
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Business Intelligence, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (Pivot Tables, Formulas, VLOOKUP, etc.).
  • Experience with Salesforce.com, Tableau, and order entry systems is a plus.
  • Ability to interpret contracts and orders, understanding how delivery configurations impact commercial structures.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Self-motivated, highly organized, and detail-oriented.
  • Strong influencing and communication skills.
  • Capable of managing multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proven problem-solving and solution development skills.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
