Horizon Recruitment is recruiting for a Collections Specialist to join a leading SaaS organization on a fully remote, short-term contract. This role is ideal for someone with strong collections experience who can manage a high volume of customer accounts, prioritize outstanding balances, and drive timely payments.

You will manage approximately 400 accounts, focusing on the highest outstanding balances first and working directly with customers to resolve overdue payments. With a significant volume of receivables to manage, strong organization, clear communication, and consistent follow-up will be key to success.

This is an immediate opportunity with an expected contract length of 2-3 months, with a target start date within the next 3-4 days. Candidates based in Vancouver are preferred, although the role is fully remote.

Responsibilities:

• Manage a portfolio of approximately 400 customer accounts, with a focus on recovering outstanding balances.
• Review collection reports and prioritize accounts based on the value of overdue balances.
• Contact customers by phone and email to follow up on outstanding invoices and secure payment commitments.
• Take ownership of collection activities from initial follow-up through to resolution.
• Investigate overdue balances, identify payment issues, and work with customers to resolve outstanding items.
• Maintain accurate account notes, collection records, and follow-up activities within internal systems.
• Track customer responses, payment commitments, and outstanding issues to ensure timely follow-up.
• Use automated collection communications as a starting point, stepping in with direct outreach where needed.
• Monitor account activity and adjust collection priorities based on payment status and outstanding risk.
• Work closely with internal teams to resolve account discrepancies and support timely payment processing.
• Help manage a collection portfolio with millions of dollars in outstanding receivables while maintaining accurate records and consistent communication.

Requirements:

• Minimum 2-3 years of experience in collections, accounts receivable, or a similar credit and collections role.
• Proven ability to manage a high volume of customer accounts and outstanding balances.
• Strong experience with business-to-business collections, including direct customer outreach by phone and email.
• Ability to prioritize collection activities based on dollar value, urgency, and payment risk.
• Excellent communication and follow-up skills, with the confidence to discuss overdue payments professionally.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, particularly when managing multiple accounts and follow-up deadlines.
• Experience documenting collection activity and maintaining accurate account records.
• Comfort working in a high-volume environment with competing priorities.
• Experience with NetSuite is an asset.
• Familiarity with Salesforce is an asset.
• Experience in a SaaS or technology business is preferred, but not rquired.
• Availability to start within the next 1-2 weeks is strongly preferred.
• Candidates based in Vancouver, BC, are preferred. The role is fully remote.

Remuneration:

• Hourly rate: up to $35 per hour.
• Contract length: Approximately 3 months.
• Work arrangement: Fully remote, with a preference for candidates based in Vancouver, BC.
• Start date: Ideally within the next 3-4 days.
