Job summary

Foremost is seeking a Coater at our Lloydminster, AB facility. The role involves coating, insulating, and painting storage tanks, vessels, skids and piping to meet quality standards.

You will apply primers and topcoats, operate coating equipment, and ensure safety and regulatory compliance while coordinating with QC and production teams for on-time delivery.

Qualifications

• Familiarity with tank, vessel and pipe coating.
• Ability to calculate values in metric and imperial.
• Clear verbal and written communication required.
• WHMIS training and safety courses are required.
• Fall Protection training completed or obtainable.
• Confined Space training completed or obtainable.
• Industrial painting experience or progression through certification.

Responsibilities

• Conform to quality standards, drawings, and verbal instructions.
• Operate and service coating and painting equipment.
• Apply epoxy primers and urethane topcoats.
• Follow working instructions, policies and procedures.
• Attend daily production meetings and report progress.
• Maintain contact with QC and Production to meet blasting and coating requirements.
• Follow safety procedures and environmental regulations.
• Prepare/apply industrial primers, paints, and coatings to finished parts/equipment.
• Operate brush or spray equipment and manage consumables storage.

Description

Foremost has an immediate opening for a Coater at our facility in Lloydminster, AB facility. The Coater will be responsible for internal and external coating, insulating and painting storage tanks, vessels, skids and piping.

Key Responsibilities

• Conform to quality control standards and construction specifications, drawings, sketches, layout boards, etc., and/or verbal instructions


• Operate and service all equipment associated with coating and painting


• Applying epoxy primers and Urethane topcoats


• Read, understand and follow working instructions/directions, policies, procedures


• Attend daily production meetings, report status of jobs in progress


• Maintain frequent contact with QC and Production to ensure all blasting and coating requirements are met


• Follow the company safe work procedures and legislated safety requirements


• Comply with all WHMIS and environmental regulations regarding the storage, use and disposal of hazardous chemicals


• Prepare and/or apply industrial primer, paint, and/or industrial coatings (protective and decorative) to all parts of finished products and/or equipment


• Operate brush or spray equipment as required and is responsible for proper storage and handling of all consumables, paints and painting supplies

Qualifications

• Ability to give and take clear direction; verbal and written


• WHIMIS, Fall Protection, Confined Space training


• Industrial painting experience or progression through a formal Painter Trade Certification
