Job summary

Dometic Marine, headquartered in Vancouver, BC, is seeking a Co-op Test Engineering - Mechanical to support engineering and testing activities. The student will work under the Test Engineering Manager in a role that blends mechanical, electrical, and software elements within our facility.

Qualifications

  • Must be enrolled in an engineering program at an accredited university.
  • Strong hands-on experience and mechanical aptitude.
  • Experience with hand tools and/or shop machinery.
  • Solid problem solving and decision‑making abilities.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
  • Well-developed organizational skills with the ability to manage a variety of tasks.
  • Professional demeanor whether in person, via email, or on the telephone.
  • Ability to work well independently and as part of a strong team.
  • Previous experience with Creo/Windchill or SolidWorks is an asset.
  • General proficiency with MS Office programs including Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint, and Teams.

  • Ensure continuous operation of test benches, and assist in maintaining or modifying as required.
  • Perform troubleshooting and root cause analysis on test samples and equipment.
  • Complete preliminary data analysis.
  • Prepare reports on completed and in-progress testing.
  • Assist in the selection, installation, and integration of sensors (pressure, force, strain, displacement, etc.).
  • Provide recommendations to improve product testing (processes, methods, analysis, etc).
  • Research and design concept solutions.

  • Pay or shift range: $23.50 CAD to $27.50 CAD The estimated range is the budgeted amount for this position. Final offers are based on various factors, including skill set, experience, location, qualifications and other job-related reasons.

We are on a journey of continuous growth – now looking for our next star – a passionate Co-op Test Engineering - Mechanical. This position reports to Test Engineering Manager and will work in Vancouver, B.C.

**Please note that this position is open to current students enrolled in a Canadian accredited university and co-op program.

Dometic Marine’s headquarters are in Vancouver, British Columbia in Canada. The facility develops and manufactures hydraulic, electronic, and combustion-based products.

As Co-op Test Engineering - Mechanical on the Vancouver team, you will be involved in a wide variety of tasks supporting administrative, engineering, and technical staff throughout the facility.

General Responsibilities
  • Prepare test samples

  • Lots of hands-on opportunities: build prototypes or equipment; test products and components; analyze product performance; disassemble, inspect, and analyze tested components; design and optimize assembly processes and equipment; analyze machining data and develop mechanical and software tools to optimize production

  • Exposure to both worlds of product development and manufacturing processes since we do it all in one facility!
