Job summary

Bird Construction invites a student for a 4- or 8-month co-op in Mississauga, starting January 2027. You will handle project AR/AP, billings, vendor invoices and related documentation under supervision.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in a post-secondary program in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline.
• Will complete at least one more semester after internship with GPA 3.0+.
• Ability to lead and adapt where change occurs.

Responsibilities

• Process project accounts receivable and payables; prepare billings and backup documents.
• Enter project payables; investigate PO discrepancies and respond to inquiries.
• Communicate with Project Managers on contracts, changes and billing approvals.
• Meet month-end deadlines and reporting requirements.
• Identify and resolve inconsistencies with Project Managers.
• Follow up on payment certifications.
• Initiate new project set-ups; reviewed and released by Controller.
• Ensure CSOX and IFRS compliance.
• File and manage project records and charge codes.
• Prepare procurement documents for purchasing processes.
