Job summary

Bird Construction seeks a Student Design Coordinator in Mississauga for a 4‑ or 8‑month co‑op starting January 2027. You will work with design teams to develop drawings, documents, and presentations under supervision and mentor support.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in Architecture, Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, Structural, or Industrial Engineering program.
• Will complete at least one more semester of education after internship and GPA 3.0+.
• Familiarity with Bluebeam Studio, Revizto and Smartsheet is an asset.
• Demonstrate ability to work independently, take initiative and manage priorities.
• Strong written and verbal communication; interest in construction processes and project management.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with architects, engineers and construction professionals as part of integrated design‑build teams.
• Assist in reviewing technical drawings and specifications.
• Participate in team meetings, take minutes, and contribute to planning and problem‑solving.
• Support researching materials, construction techniques and building codes.
• Prepare project documentation, design reports, and presentations.
• Monitor design progress and track changes to align with schedules and workplans.
• Support maintenance of design schedules and timely delivery of design outputs.
• Take on additional responsibilities related to construction design as required.
