Job summary

Flatiron Construction Corp. is seeking a civil engineering co-op student for January 2026 start, offering 4-, 8-, and 12-month placements in Mississauga, Canada.

You will participate in preliminary estimates, design calculations, and project documentation for municipal infrastructure projects. The role emphasizes initiative, detail-orientation, teamwork, and strong communication, with potential exposure to AutoCAD, Civil3D, Heavy Bid and Excel/Word.

Qualifications

• Enrolled in a Bachelor's degree program in Civil Engineering.
• Ability to take initiative, pay attention to details, and work in a team environment.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills required.
• Knowledge and/or experience with AutoCAD, Civil3D, Heavy Bid is a definite plus.
• Knowledge and/or experience in the design of municipal infrastructure projects preferred.
• Experience in engineering consulting will be considered an asset.
• Excellent MS Excel and MS Word skills.

Responsibilities

• Participate in preliminary estimates and details with guidelines for Municipal Infrastructure projects.

• Assist in maintaining client relationships and explaining technical information.
• Produce statements of quantities and prepare budget assessments.
• Verify and complete RFPs, estimates, and other technical documents.

• Assist the project manager and perform related tasks to help complete projects.

Overview

We are looking for a co-op student available for 4, 8 and 12 months starting January 2026.

What you will be doing

• Participate in preliminary estimates and details with the use of the guidelines for the projects relating to the field of Municipal Infrastructure
• Take part in design calculations and plans to ensure matching to the guidelines, the code requirements and other regulations
• Assist in maintaining relationships with clients in order to define their needs; explain technical information, concepts or study results
• Produce statements of quantities and prepare the budget assessments
• Verify and complete requests for proposals (RFPs), estimates and other technical documents
• Draft or proofread parts of the proposal, prepare documents for submittal
• Assist the project manager when help is needed. Perform all other related tasks that will help complete the project

What we are looking for
