Job summary

FlatironDragados is seeking a co-op Civil Engineering student for 4, 8, or 12 months starting January 2026 in Mississauga, ON. You will participate in preliminary estimates, design calculations, and client communications to support municipal infrastructure projects.

Enrolled in a Bachelor's program, you will gain hands-on experience with AutoCAD, Civil3D, and Excel, work in a team, and contribute to proposals and budgets. The role offers a comprehensive compensation package and benefits.

Qualifications

• Enrolled in a Bachelor's degree program in Civil Engineering.
• Ability to take initiative, pay attention to detail, and work in a team environment.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills required.
• Knowledge/experience with AutoCAD, Civil3D, Heavy Bid is a definite plus.
• Knowledge/experience in design of municipal infrastructure projects preferred.
• Experience in engineering consulting is an asset.
• Excellent MS Excel and MS Word skills.

Job description

We are looking for a co-op student available for 4, 8 and 12 months starting January 2026.

What You Will Be Doing

• Participate in preliminary estimates and details with the use of the guidelines for the projects relating to the field of Municipal Infrastructure
• Take part in design calculations and plans to ensure matching to the guidelines, the code requirements and other regulations
• Assist in maintaining relationships with clients in order to define their needs; explain technical information, concepts or study results
• Produce statements of quantities and prepare the budget assessments
• Verify and complete requests for proposals (RFPs), estimates and other technical documents
• Draft or proofread parts of the proposal, prepare documents for submittal
• Assist the project manager when help is needed. Perform all other related tasks that will help complete the project

What We Are Looking For

• Enrolled in a Bachelor's degree program in Civil Engineering
• Ability to take initiative, pay attention to details, and work in a team environment

• Knowledge and/or experience with the following a definite plus: AutoCAD, Civil3D, Heavy Bid
