Job summary

KWL is seeking a positive Engineering Co-op Student to join the Stormwater team for a 4- to 8-month term beginning January 2027. The role involves assisting with design tasks, hydrologic analyses, and field data collection to support sustainable stormwater solutions and green infrastructure.

The ideal candidate is enrolled in a Civil Engineering program, proficient with MS Office, and may have ArcGIS experience.

Qualifications

• Enrolled in a Bachelor of Science or Applied Science in Civil Engineering.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Willing to travel and work in a multidisciplinary team.

We are looking for a positive and motivated Engineering Co-op Student to join our Stormwater team for a 4- or preferably 8-month term,starting in January 2027. What You’ll Do

• Assist with design tasks including calculations, technical report writing, and cost estimates
• Assist in the preparation and implementation of technical databases and computer-based hydrologic and hydraulic models
• Perform data collection, organization, analysis, and management
• Sketch or prepare design details for drawings
• Support field monitoring the performance of project construction sites,
• Perform field site visits for inventory, review and assessment of features or infrastructures
• Write task documentation and results presentation and discussion
• Note: Must be physically able to conduct field visits commensurate with project work. This may include handling and operation of equipment, travel to remote areas by vehicle, boat, air or foot, and outdoor site visits in all weather conditions on uneven/varying ground terrain.

What You’ll Bring

• Current enrolment in a Bachelor of Science or Applied Science in Civil Engineering program.
• You know your way around the MS Office suite of products and are keen to grow your skills
• Experience with ArcGIS or other GIS software would be an asset.
• You are passionate about building a career in water/municipal infrastructure and related fields.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (oral and written) and be able to work with team members in a multi-disciplinary environment.
• A desire to learn new skills and an eagerness to grow within your role.
• You've got a clean Driver’s Abstract, and are willing to travel

Wage

• $4,600.00 monthly
