Job summary

UBC Okanagan Campus seeks a Co-op & Career Coordinator to lead the Centralized Co-op Education program. You will design strategies to market to employers nationally and internationally, recruit students, and provide one-on-one and group career counseling to prepare them for co-op terms.

You will monitor work terms, evaluate outcomes, and collaborate with faculties and staff across campus to ensure program quality and equity.

Qualifications

• Undergraduate degree in a relevant discipline is required.
• Minimum of four years’ experience or the equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Willingness to respect diverse perspectives and commitment to equity, diversity and inclusion.
• Demonstrated interpersonal skills to build and maintain productive relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Develops, coordinates and evaluates the Centralized Co-op Education program at UBC Okanagan campus.
• Markets the program to employers nationally and internationally and recruits students.
• Provides career counseling to students before and during co-op work terms.
• Monitors student work terms, assesses learning and collects evaluations.
• Delivers pre-employment training and workshops; maintains records for academic reporting.
• Collaborates with faculties and other UBC staff to ensure program effectiveness and equity-focused practices.
