Job summary

Lakehead University seeks an Advisor, Co-op & Career Education to support a portfolio of programs and faculties, delivering student-centred co-op administration and career advising. The role leads extra-curricular initiatives to advance career outcomes for Lakehead students and graduates.

You'll collaborate with Deans, Chairs and external partners, design events, coach students, and manage program data and CRM records to inform planning and improve student readiness for the workforce.

Qualifications

• Post-secondary degree in education, adult education, higher education and leadership, or an equivalent combination.
• 3+ years in career development, employment counselling or related student services.
• Facilitation skills with ability to adapt communication across audiences.
• Strong customer service, relationship-building and time-management abilities.
• Knowledge of WIL, CEWIL standards and Canadian labour-market concepts.

Responsibilities

• Design and deliver career exploration events, workshops and programming for students and alumni.
• Advise co-op students on resumes, cover letters, interviews and job search strategies.
• Monitor progress and provide referral support to ensure student success.
• Maintain co-op program data and prepare regular reports for enrolment planning.
• Engage employers, partner with faculty, and promote Lakehead's co-op offerings.
• Manage CRM records and coordinate communications with students and employers.
