Job summary

MNP is seeking a Co-op Accounting Student for an 8-month term from January 2027 to August 2027. You will develop technical skills in accounting, tax and assurance while applying IFRS/GAAP/ASPE concepts for diverse clients.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a bachelor’s degree in commerce or business administration with accounting/finance major preferred.
• Pursuing prerequisites for CPA Professional Education Program (PEP).
• Previous accounting-related office experience is considered an asset.
• Customer service or client service experience is considered an asset.
• Experience using accounting and tax software is considered an asset.

Responsibilities

• Develop technical skills in compilations, reviews, audits, bookkeeping, and tax.
• Learn IFRS/GAAP/ASPE basics and apply them to client work.
• Set up files for new clients and manage multiple files with inventory counts.
• Perform AR, AP, asset accounting and payroll reviews with clients.
• Prepare balance sheets, P&L statements and other reports.
• Assess audit evidence for expenses, revenues, assets, payables and prepaid expenses.
• Investigate discrepancies in financial entries and reports.
• Establish charts of accounts and posting entries.
• Prepare client correspondence, reports, and presentations of findings.
• Collaborate with client teams and build relationships with client contacts.
• Contribute to process improvements using MNP systems.
• Travel flexibility as necessary.
