Job summary

MNP is seeking a Co-op Accountant in Sarnia, ON to support assurance and accounting services. You will work on compilations, reviews, audits, bookkeeping and tax while learning IFRS, GAAP and ASPE in a dynamic team.

As a trusted advisor, you’ll help prepare financial statements, interact with clients and partners, and develop professional skills through real engagements and on-site collaboration within Canada.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in commerce or business administration with accounting/finance focus.
• Pursuing CPA PEP prerequisites or planning to start CPA path.
• Experience with accounting and tax software is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Develop technical skills in compilations, reviews, audits, bookkeeping and tax.
• Apply knowledge of IFRS, GAAP and ASPE in client work.
• Set up files for new clients and manage multiple files concurrently.
• Perform accounts receivable/payable, asset acquisitions, payroll walkthroughs with clients.
• Prepare balance sheets, P&L and other financial reports.
• Assess audit evidence for expenses, revenues and assets.
• Review discrepancies in financial entries and reports.
• Prepare chart of accounts and posting entries.
• Draft client correspondence, reports and presentations on findings.
• Collaborate with engagement teams and client contacts; support process improvements.
• Travel flexibility as necessary.
