Job summary

MNP is seeking a Co-op Accountant, Assurance and Accounting in Stratford, PE. This internship offers exposure to compilations, reviews, audits, bookkeeping and tax within a leading national firm. You’ll work with IFRS/GAAP/ASPE concepts and support client engagements while building essential accounting experience.

Applicants may be pursuing a commerce or business degree with an accounting/finance focus; CPA prerequisites are encouraged. Salary is tailored to skills, with travel as needed.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a bachelor's degree in commerce or business administration with accounting/finance major preferred.
• Actively pursuing prerequisites for CPA Professional Education Program (PEP).
• Prior accounting office experience is an asset.
• Customer service experience is an asset.
• Experience using accounting and tax software is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Develop technical skills in compilations, reviews, audits, bookkeeping and tax.
• Set up files for new clients and manage multiple files while handling inventory counts.
• Perform accounts receivable, accounts payable, payroll walkthroughs and related tasks.
• Prepare balance sheets, income statements and other reports.
• Collaborate with client engagement teams and maintain client relationships.
