Job summary

OpenText in Canada seeks a Cloud Application Engineer / Site Reliability Engineer to enhance availability, performance, and stability of services in a cloud DevOps setup. You will automate repetitive tasks and drive reliability at scale across multi-cloud environments.

You will collaborate with Agile squads, own incident response, RCA investigations, and contribute to production readiness, monitoring, and dashboards for real-time business tracking.

Qualifications

• Strong Linux systems administration and troubleshooting in production.
• Scripting skills (Shell, Python, Perl, or JavaScript) with automation experience.
• Hands-on with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud) and modern platform tech.
• Knowledge of microservices, REST APIs, OAuth 2.0, and API gateways.
• Experience designing/maintaining CI/CD and automation pipelines.
• Middleware and app server familiarity (Apache, Tomcat, Spring, Java-based apps).
• Experience with distributed systems, high-volume apps, and databases (SQL/NoSQL).
• Deep observability and monitoring expertise (Dynatrace/New Relic/AppDynamics, logging).
• Ability to diagnose complex issues and drive reliability improvements.
• Proven leadership and collaboration across cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Build solutions to enhance availability, performance, and stability of OpenText services.
• Design and implement proactive monitoring, alerting, and observability capabilities.
• Provide advanced production support, troubleshooting, and incident management.
• Own incident resolution processes, RCA, SWAT investigations, and preventive actions.
• Partner with development to drive system stability and production readiness.
• Develop and maintain runbooks, support procedures, and best-practice patterns.
• Create real-time monitoring, alerting, and KPI dashboards based on business tracking.
• Lead performance analysis and provide guidance on optimization and reliability.
• Collaborate with owners and teams to remediate audit findings and ensure compliance.
• Support a 24x7x365 environment through on-call rotations and knowledge sharing.
