Skillhub Solutions Inc. in Oshawa, ON is seeking a cloud engineer to design, implement, and support secure cloud infrastructure and virtualization solutions. You will work with senior engineers to execute defined assignments, following established architecture, security, and governance standards.

You will automate deployments, manage Azure networking, landing zones, DR and monitoring, and contribute to cost optimization through IaC and scripting with Terraform, Ansible, and Python.

Qualifications

• Four-year degree or equivalent in CS/IT/Engineering.
• 4+ years implementing and supporting cloud infrastructure and Azure networking.

Location: Oshawa, Ontario; three days onsite

Role overview

Develop, configure, implement, and support secure cloud infrastructure and virtualization solutions within established architecture, security, and governance standards. Work independently on defined engineering assignments and collaborate with senior engineers and architects on complex designs and enterprise-wide changes.

Responsibilities

• Deploy and support cloud infrastructure and virtualization solutions using approved architecture patterns and version-controlled configurations.
• Automate server builds and deployments; configure and troubleshoot Azure networking, including ExpressRoute, VPNs, route tables, virtual networks, and peering.
• Implement and maintain cloud landing zones, disaster recovery, backups, monitoring, and alerting.
• Analyze cloud usage and spending and implement approved cost-optimization actions.
• Develop and maintain reusable Infrastructure as Code configurations and automation scripts using tools and languages such as Terraform, Packer, Ansible, PowerShell, Python, Bash, or Go.
• Apply security, privacy, compliance, and governance requirements; troubleshoot infrastructure and operational issues.
• Identify improvements to infrastructure automation, resilience, scalability, reliability, and cost efficiency.

Qualifications

• Four-year university education in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent education.
• Over four and up to six years of progressively responsible experience implementing and supporting cloud infrastructure, virtualization, IaaS, Azure networking, landing zones, backup and recovery, monitoring, Infrastructure as Code, scripting, and cloud operations.
