Morson Group in Canada is seeking a Cloud Infrastructure Engineer (MP3) to join the Cloud Platform team. The role will support IT project initiatives, implement secure cloud infrastructure, and collaborate with senior engineers on enterprise-wide changes.

You will configure IaC with Terraform and Packer, automate server builds, manage Azure networking, implement landing zones, and ensure disaster recovery, monitoring, and cost optimization.

Qualifications

• Progressively responsible experience implementing and supporting cloud infrastructure solutions.
• Experience with Terraform, Packer, Ansible, PowerShell, Python or comparable tools.
• Ability to independently complete defined engineering assignments while seeking guidance for complex architecture and design decisions.
• 4+ years to 6 years of relevant experience.

Responsabilités

• Develop, configure, deploy, and support secure and scalable cloud infrastructure and virtualization.
• Automate server builds and deployment processes using approved tools and scripting.
• Configure, maintain, and troubleshoot Azure networking components including ExpressRoute, VPNs, route tables, vNETs, and vNET peering.
• Implement and maintain cloud landing zone components in accordance with architecture, security, and governance standards.
• Implement, test, and maintain disaster recovery and backup solutions to support business continuity.
• Configure monitoring and alerting, analyze operational data, and improve reliability and performance.
• Analyze cloud resource utilization and spend to improve cost efficiency and FinOps transparency.
• Develop and maintain reusable Infrastructure as Code configurations using Terraform and Packer.
• Develop and maintain scripts using Bash, PowerShell, Go, Python to automate infrastructure and operations.
• Ensure cloud infrastructure adheres to cybersecurity, privacy, compliance and governance requirements.
• Investigate and resolve cloud infrastructure, networking, automation, backup, and monitoring issues.
• Continuously identify opportunities to improve automation, resilience, scalability, and cost effectiveness.

This role on the Cloud Platform team will support multiple IT project initiatives.

Key Accountabilities

• The Associate Cloud Infrastructure Engineer develops, configures, implements, and supports cloud infrastructure and virtualization solutions.
• The role works within established cloud architecture, security, and governance standards across IaaS, Azure networking, landing zones, disaster recovery, backups, monitoring, FinOps, Infrastructure as Code, and scripting.
• The position independently delivers defined engineering work while collaborating with senior engineers and architects on complex designs and enterprise-wide changes.

Job Duties

1. Cloud Infrastructure Implementation: Develop, configure, deploy, and support secure and scalable cloud infrastructure and virtualization solutions using approved architecture patterns and version-controlled configurations.
2. Server Automation: Develop and maintain automated server build and deployment processes using approved automation tools and scripting languages.
3. Azure Networking: Configure, maintain, and troubleshoot Azure networking components including ExpressRoute, VPNs, route tables, vNETs, and vNET peering using established designs.
4. 4. Landing Zones: Implement and maintain cloud landing zone components in accordance with approved architecture, security, and governance standards.
5. Disaster Recovery & Backups: Implement, test, and maintain disaster recovery and backup solutions to support defined business continuity requirements.
6. Monitoring & Reliability: Configure monitoring and alerting capabilities, analyze operational information, and implement improvements to infrastructure reliability and performance.
7. Cost Optimization & FinOps: Analyze cloud resource utilization and spending and implement approved optimization actions to improve cost efficiency and support FinOps transparency.
8. Infrastructure as Code: Develop and maintain reusable Infrastructure as Code configurations using technologies such as Terraform and Packer.
9. Scripting & Automation: Develop and maintain scripts using Bash, PowerShell, Go, Python, or comparable languages to automate infrastructure and operational activities.
10. Security & Governance: Implement cloud infrastructure in accordance with cybersecurity, privacy, compliance, and governance requirements and remediate identified configuration issues.
11. Technical Troubleshooting: Investigate and resolve cloud infrastructure, networking, automation, backup, and monitoring issues, escalating complex architecture matters where required.
12. Continuous Improvement: Assess emerging cloud capabilities and identify opportunities to improve infrastructure automation, resilience, scalability, operational efficiency, and cost effectiveness.

Qualifications

Experience

• Role requires progressively responsible experience implementing and supporting cloud infrastructure solutions, including virtualization, IaaS, Azure networking, landing zones, backup and recovery, monitoring, Infrastructure as Code, scripting, and cloud operations.
• Experience using technologies such as Terraform, Packer, Ansible, PowerShell, Python, or comparable tools is required.
• The role requires the ability to independently complete defined engineering assignments while seeking senior technical guidance for complex architecture and design decisions.
• A period of over 4 years and up to and including 6 years is considered necessary to gain this experience.

Education

• Role requires knowledge of scalable, secure, and resilient cloud infrastructure, virtualization, networking, automation, and operational practices.
• This knowledge is considered to be normally acquired through the successful completion of a four-year university education in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field, or by having the equivalent level of education.
