Job summary

DMCL LLP is seeking a Part‑Time Cloud Accountant in Surrey with QuickBooks Online experience to support its Cloud Accounting team. The role is 2–3 days per week, offering flexible scheduling to fit both the candidate and team needs.

You’ll work with small and medium-sized businesses to keep financial records current using cloud tools like QBO, Hubdoc, Plooto, and PaymentEvolution, improving efficiency and visibility. Collaboration with experienced team members is encouraged.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of accounting, cloud accounting, or bookkeeping experience.
• Comfortable using QuickBooks Online; Xero or Sage 50 a plus.

• Pay or shift range: $54,000 CAD to $60,000 CAD
  We’re committed to fair and transparent pay. The salary for this role is based on a 35-hour work week, which is standard at DMCL. This work week is up to 14% shorter than some comparable positions with other organizations. Ask us more about working extra hours if you are interested in enhancing your compensation. About the role

DMCL is seeking a Part-Time Cloud Accountant with experience in QuickBooks Online (QBO) to join our growing Cloud Accounting team in our Surrey office. This position is approximately 2–3 days per week, with flexibility to determine the schedule based on the successful candidate’s availability and the needs of the team.

As part of our Private Enterprise practice, you’ll work with small and medium-sized businesses to keep their financial records accurate, organized, and up to date. Using cloud-based tools such as QuickBooks Online, Hubdoc, Plooto, and PaymentEvolution, you’ll help clients streamline their accounting processes and gain better visibility into their financial information.

This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys hands‑on accounting and bookkeeping, working with a variety of clients, and using technology to make accounting processes more efficient. You’ll gain exposure to different businesses and industries while working alongside experienced members of our Cloud Accounting and Private Enterprise teams.

How you’ll make a difference

• Deliver clear and timely reporting. Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and management reports to help clients track performance and guide business strategy.
• Maintain compliance and reduce risk. Accurately manage GST and PST filings to help clients meet tax obligations efficiently and avoid errors or penalties.
• Support smooth client transitions. Onboard new clients into QBO, ensuring proper data setup and conversion for long‑term success.
• Enhance accuracy and workflow efficiency. Keep client records organized and up to date to ensure precise reporting and smooth operations.

Who you are

You enjoy bookkeeping and accounting and like working with different clients and projects. You want to be part of a team where you can learn from managers, partners and coworkers, help clients using QuickBooks Online.

While CPA pursuit is not required for this role, we welcome candidates who may wish to pursue the designation down the road. The Cloud Accounting team follows a unique development model that differs from our traditional CPA training stream, offering a strong hands‑on learning experience focused on technology and client service.

• 2+ years of experience in accounting, cloud accounting, or bookkeeping (public practice experience is an asset).
• Comfortable using QuickBooks Online; experience with Xero or Sage 50 is a plus.
• A good communicator who can explain things clearly and work well with clients.
• Detail‑oriented and organized, with a focus on solving problems and improving processes.
• A team player who shares updates, helps others, and enjoys collaborating.
