Overview

At KPMG, you’ll join a team of diverse and dedicated problem solvers, connected by a common cause turning insight into opportunity for clients and communities around the world.

The Contingent Labour Office’s (CLO) mandate is to partner with the business to enable an expedited and customer-centric positive approach to engaging external resources. This involves balancing the commercial needs of the business with mitigating risk to the firm. This mandate is achieved by:

  • Utilizing internal contingent workforce expert practitioners, who continuously expand their skills and remain up-to-date on market intelligence.
  • Acting as trusted advisors, to educate, challenge the status quo, and advise the business on creative approaches to find the right solutions.
  • Delivering a customer-centric approach to the business and external resources by minimizing administration efforts, anticipating their needs, projecting a ‘how can I help you’ attitude, and actively collaborating with Hiring Managers to deepen relationships.

Location: Anywhere in Canada will be considered; this is a virtual work opportunity (1-2 days in office per month may be required for meetings).

What You Will Do

Reporting to the Leader of the Contract Labour Office (CLO), the Contract Manager will execute processes and solve challenges related to external resources—during setup, on contract, renewal, or departure—for all functions and locations across Canada. The CLO processes over 1000 external resources per year, ranging from individuals to multi-million dollar organizations. Responsibilities include:

  • Applying technical expertise to advise, guide, and support Hiring Managers in engaging external resources.
  • Working independently on complex cases, escalations, and requests for effective and timely resolution.
  • Handling complex contract revisions, risk assessments, change management, and managing difficult relationships.
  • Addressing matters related to classification, conflicts of interest, immigration, taxation, data security, international services, security requirements, acquisitions, offshore resources, alliances, contract negotiations, and more.
  • Partnering with internal experts such as Legal, Risk Management, Procurement, ITS Security, and external service providers.
  • Managing high-risk cases related to legislative compliance, firm policies, independence, tax, immigration, and data security.
Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Promoting the CLO’s brand through a customer-centric approach.
  • Managing cases within KPMG’s vendor management system (Flextrack).
  • Training internal clients on system use.
  • Gathering and assessing information related to external resources.
  • Conducting due diligence and advising stakeholders.
  • Maintaining records for reporting and compliance.
  • Managing complex and high-risk cases, mediating negotiations, drafting agreements, and managing relationships.
  • Supporting continuous improvement initiatives and projects.
  • Responding to inquiries, providing reports, managing escalations, and leading educational sessions.
Qualifications
  • College or University degree in a relevant field.
  • At least 5 years’ experience in contract labor or contingent workforce case management.
  • Experience drafting third-party agreements and liaising with multiple parties.
  • Exposure to immigration matters related to resourcing.
  • Ability to act as a trusted advisor and manage multiple stakeholders.
  • Attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to manage priorities.
  • Strong communication skills and proficiency with MS Office, especially Excel.
  • Legal training or experience and familiarity with ServiceNow and Flextrack are assets.

This position requires fluency in English and the ability to collaborate with English-speaking colleagues.

Compensation

The expected salary range in BC is $73,000 to $109,500, with potential bonuses. Salary is based on location, skills, and qualifications. KPMG offers a comprehensive Total Rewards program.
