Job summary

Kingston Health Sciences Centre invites applications for a Clinical Lab Geneticist. The role partners with the Department of Pathology and Molecular Medicine, offering teaching and research opportunities with a Queen’s University faculty appointment.

Board-certified or eligible in CCMG or international equivalent is expected, with expertise in constitutional and somatic genetics and cytogenomic testing. The successful candidate will lead genetic testing interpretation, participate in test

Qualifications

• Board-certified or board-eligible as a Fellow of the Canadian College of Medical Genetics (CCMG) or international equivalent in molecular and/or cytogenetics.
• Experience and knowledge in constitutional genetics, somatic genetics, molecular and cytogenomic testing.
• Excellent communication and leadership skills; able to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.

Responsibilities

• Data interpretation for a wide range of molecular and cytogenetic assays.
• Clinical interpretation of results and consultation with clinicians as needed.
• Hospital-wide on-call coverage to provide clinical relevance of test data and assist in patient management.
