The Clinical Field Specialist provides leadership and expertise to effectively support and advance evidence-based best practices within a seniors environment. This includes facilitating the creation of a collaborative practice environment through leadership, role modelling, and coordination of practice activities; identifying the learning needs of nursing staff related to nursing practice issues; collaborating to design overall learning strategies and interventions; advising on and providing leadership to initiatives related to nursing practice such as inter-professional collaboration and communication, education, research, quality improvement, professional standards, and regulatory requirements; and encouraging the professional development of nursing staff to maintain and enhance their growth.

***The preferred location of the candidate would be Kelowna or Vernon, BC.***

Responsibilities

• Apply the organization’s mission, vision, values, and resident rights.
• Support clinical staff in the homes with implementing improvements or changes in practice.
• Support the enforcement and adherence to policies, procedures, regulations, and standards.
• Promote a holistic approach to address factors impacting resident care.
• Support research-based practice.
• Be familiar with legislation in BC and Alberta.
• Provide clinical support to teams in the home, including follow-up, oversight, and education for new team members.
• Offer remote and hands-on clinical support, including day-to-day operations and nurse PCC orientation.
• Assist in delivering education sessions as needed (PCC, policy updates, clinical updates).
• Ensure clinical policies and procedures are followed.
• Support nursing teams in ensuring appropriate follow-through.
• Lead, support, and mentor the nursing clinical team in the homes.
• Collaborate with all care team members and support services.
• Work with the MDS coordinator to ensure clinical processes are followed.
• Support the home in the absence of Clinical leadership.
