Job summary

Peterborough Regional Health Centre (PRHC) in Peterborough, Ontario, is seeking a Clinical Extern in Nursing for the IP Clinical Prof Practice team. The role is part-time on a temporary basis to 2027-03-31 and pays $20.60 per hour.

You will work under supervision, in interprofessional teams, to promote wellness and deliver safe, quality care while developing your clinical competencies. Eligible nursing students from 2nd to 4th year or PN final year are invited to apply.

Hours of Work

The stated hours of work are approximate as schedules are subject to change with the operational needs of the Health Centre. Changes made to hours of work will follow the terms of the applicable collective agreement, company policy and/or legislation. Hourly wage: $20.60/hour Hours of work: To participate in this position, we ask that you complete a minimum of 8 hours of work each pay period.

The Clinical Extern is an unregulated health care provider working under the supervision of registered health care professionals. They will work within a changing environment in interprofessional teams to advocate for and promote wellness while ensuring the delivery of safe, quality care. The Clinical Extern will develop their competencies through learning, education, experience and reflective practice. As part of our ongoing commitment to professional growth and development, Clinical Externs may be considered for future opportunities upon graduation and licensure.

What You’ll Bring

• Nursing Student between 2nd and 4th year of a College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO) approved Baccalaureate Nursing (BScN or BN) program
• Nursing Student in final year of a Practical Nursing (PN) program
