Job summary

Peterborough Regional Health Centre (PRHC) seeks a Scheduling & Labour Relations Assistant to support complex unit scheduling and labour relations compliance. This part-time, temporary role focuses on timely, accurate staffing aligned with collective agreements and hospital policies.

You will assist in coordinating schedules across units, maintain data accuracy, and contribute to improving scheduling workflows while upholding PRHC values.

Qualifications

  • Post-secondary diploma in HR, Business or related field or equivalent experience.
  • 1–2 years in a related work environment.
  • Excellent computer skills and data entry/analysis abilities.
  • Experience with Staffing/Scheduling and collective agreements (ONA, CUPE, OPSEU) preferred.
  • UKG scheduling experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Meet immediate and future scheduling needs for units with complex schedules.
  • Provide timely, positive scheduling experiences through clear communication and accurate service.

HOURS OF WORK

The stated hours of work are approximate as schedules are subject to change with the operational needs of the Health Centre. Changes made to hours of work will follow the terms of the applicable collective agreement, company policy and/or legislation.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

The HR Scheduling Associate has two primary objectives: Meet the immediate and future scheduling needs for all units with complex schedules (e.g. units that operate 24 hours per day, 7 days per week, requiring staff replacement in the event of absence) based on the appropriate Collective Agreement language, PRHC policies, legislation, scheduling protocols, and unit needs established by the unit manager; Provide a timely and positive scheduling experience for the staff, the manager, the unit and the organization as a whole through prompt and respectful communication, accurate and consistent service delivery, anticipation of scheduling needs, and initiation of suggestions for improvement in scheduling.

WHAT YOU’LL BRING
  • Post‑secondary diploma in Human Resources, Business or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and work experience
  • One to two years of experience in a related work environment
  • Excellent computer skills
  • Excellent data entry and analysis skills
  • Previous experience in Staffing/Scheduling with an understanding of Collective Agreements (ONA, CUPE, and OPSEU) and scheduling rules in a hospital environment is preferred
  • Experience with a computerized scheduling program (UKG) is preferred
