Job summary

ParaMed in Canada is seeking a Clinical Educator responsible for training field staff across the district, delivering education and in-services to ensure safe, high-quality care. You'll select and educate preceptors, provide clinical orientation to nurses, and implement the district education plan in collaboration with the Care and Services Manager.

A Registered Nurse in good standing with 3–5 years in adult education and community RN experience, plus travel ability, are essential; benefits

Qualifications

• Registered Nurse in good standing with provincial college.
• 3 to 5 years experience in an adult education environment.
• 2 to 3 years RN experience in a community setting.
• C.N.A. Community Health Nurse certification is an asset.
• Knowledge of Mental Health Act, Substitute Decisions Act, Healthcare Consent Act, and PHIPA.
• Strong presentation and interpersonal skills.
• Commitment to professional development via committees and associations.
• Valid driver’s license and vehicle; ability to travel across the district.
• Proficiency with Word, PowerPoint and Excel.

Responsibilities

• Select and educate preceptors for students on placement.
• Provide clinical orientation to nurses.
• Arrange mandatory or centre-specific education including back care training.
• Operationalize the district educational plan in collaboration with the Care and Services Manager.
• Deliver PSS training programs in the district.
• Conduct needs analyses to support creation of education plan for the District.
• Stay informed of changes in practice settings that affect scope of practice.
• Champion ParaMed’s policies and procedures through education and training of staff.
• Integrate client-centered practice expectations in all education and training events.
