The Public Safety Department is seeking individuals to join our auxiliary pool as Clerk Typist 3 within Police Support Services at the RCMP Detachment. In this role, you will provide clerical, transcription and records support across multiple operational areas. Assignments may vary and incumbents may be trained and scheduled to work in one or more functional areas based on operational requirements. As a PRIME Reviewer, you will maintain police records and databases by reading, classifying and scoring information on police files, verifying the accuracy and completeness of data, and entering and amending information in relevant systems. As a CPIC Operator, you will perform data entry and clerical work related to the provision and receipt of information through the Canadian Police Information Centre. This includes entering, updating and verifying information on police databases. You will work independently on detailed tasks requiring a high degree of accuracy and exercise sound judgment in routine matters. The position requires excellent written communication skills, including exemplary spelling and punctuation. You have strong attention to detail, the ability to manage multiple tasks, and a demonstrated capacity to work both independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment. Requirements include:

  • Minimum typing speed of 50–60 words per minute, depending on assignment
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Experience in transcription, clerical or data entry work
  • Ability to work shifts of up to eleven (11) hours, including days, evenings and weekends

Experience in a law enforcement environment and/or a background in Office or Legal Administration would be considered an asset.
